A Look Back at 2025: Encouragements & Prayer Needs

It’s been a while since our last update—back in June 2025, we had just launched our first Digital Engagement campaigns. Since then, we’ve continued experimenting, learning, and adjusting. Progress has been slower than we hoped, but we’re encouraged by the ways God is already at work.

Even in a digital space, God is opening doors. We’ve had spiritual conversations, prayed with people, and shared the gospel—sometimes in surprising ways. Here are a few highlights and answered prayers from the past several months:

Faithful Helpers for the Work

One of the biggest answers to prayer has been the addition of two faithful partners—Ruth and Raysi—who have joined us in creating content for our Digital Engagement social media pages. Their commitment has allowed us to get into a steady rhythm of filming 2–3 times a month. This content is shared both organically and through paid ads, and it’s a vital part of connecting with people who are spiritually searching.

Filming regularly takes time, creativity, and consistency. Having a team committed to that work has been a true gift.

Local Connections Bearing Fruit

Some responses to our ads have come from areas where we already have relationships with local churches. When that happens, we do our best to connect seekers with nearby pastors. One of those pastors recently sent us a photo after meeting with a man who had responded to one of our ads. He was able to give him a Bible and clearly share the gospel. These moments—however small—remind us that God is using these tools to reach real people.

On a more personal note, I’ve been walking alongside a man who responded to one of our ads expressing interest in studying the Bible. We first met at a coffee shop to explore his spiritual curiosity. That conversation turned into regular virtual Bible studies—2–3 times a month. Over time, his understanding and assurance of salvation grew. We recently completed a new believers study, and he’s now attending our church in person. It’s been a joy to witness his growth and be a small part of his journey.

Stories from the Field

In my role, I also hear updates from other teams using digital engagement across the Americas. Here are a couple that stood out:

One team ran a Christmas ad that reached a woman who was hospitalized. She reached out, and the team was able to visit her, share the gospel, and lead her to Christ. The local church stepped in to care for her, showing her the love of Christ in both word and deed.

Another team connected with a group of believers in a remote area with no local church. Now, that team has the opportunity to follow up and explore planting a church there—something that might not have happened without that initial digital connection.

These stories show what’s possible. But the work is still slow and often challenging.

That’s why we’re asking you to continue—or renew—your commitment to pray for our family and the digital engagement work happening across the Americas. Your prayers truly matter.

How You Can Pray

Endurance for Teams
Pray for our teams not to grow discouraged. Digital engagement often requires trial and error. Pray for perseverance and creativity as we try new approaches.

Open Hearts
Every context is different, but God is always at work. Pray that He would use the posts, videos, and ads to reach those He’s already drawing to Himself.

Creative Insight
The digital space moves quickly. Pray for fresh ideas and effective content that communicates truth clearly and draws people in.

More Laborers
There’s more opportunity than we can handle alone. Pray that God would raise up national partners—faithful, skilled, and passionate—to join in this work with our IMB teams.

Thank you for walking with us in this. We’re grateful for your partnership in the gospel—through your prayers, your encouragement, and your faithful presence alongside us, even from afar.

With gratitude,
The Mitcham Family
