We’re Going On The Mission Field

We're excited to announce that we're going to be serving in Bogota, Colombia with the International Mission Board (IMB) starting in October of this year.

For the past 12 years, Amy and I have prayed about serving with the IMB. In fact, during our first year of marriage we started the application process until I (Jared) decided I wasn't ready to take the leap into full time overseas missions.

But our heart for missions and desire to serve to God has never left us. In 2021, Amy and I began having serious conversations about serving with the IMB again. We decided to start the application process all over in August of 2021. In May of 2022, we received official word that we had received all clearances.

Next Steps For Us

There are still some final things that need to be done. We still need to sell our home and get rid of all our stuff. We plan on selling the house in mid-June and moving to Georgia to live with Amy's mother in August.

The IMB trustees still have to give us final approval in August. So as long as they vote to approve us, we'll then go to training in Virginia for 7 weeks. Then we will spend a year in Mexico in language school, before making it to our final destination of Colombia.

We've created this website to help friends and family keep up with our family and all the things that we're doing. We hope that you'll consider subscribing to our newsletter. We plan to send out a monthly email update to give you ideas on ways you can pray for us and things that God is doing in our ministries. 

We'll be extremely busy over the next few months as we work to make this transition. Some prayer points we ask you to remember are:

• Selling our house this summer
• Getting rid of all of our stuff
• Spiritual health and growth as we make these big life transitions
• The hearts and attitudes of each person in our family as we face new challenges
